Prolific producer Bud Yorkin, who passed away in August at the age of 89, was remembered warmly Monday at the Directors Guild headquarters as one of the most generous personalities in Hollywood.

“Everything I learned about directing, I learned from Bud Yorkin,” said director Robert Benton. “His enthusiasm and his joy for life could get you through almost anything. I will carry him with me, as will most of us, for the rest of my life.”

The two-hour program offered a recap of Yorkin’s lengthy and varied career, which included profoundly influential shows such as “All in the Family,” “The Jeffersons,” “Maude,” “An Evening With Fred Astaire” and “Blade Runner.”
